Aditya Jha, Chair, Advisory Board

 
Order of Canada recipient Aditya Jha is a rare combination of a philanthropist and a serial entrepreneur His software company, Isopia Inc was a major acquisition by Sun Microsystems Inc., USA. His private charitable foundation (www.poafoundation.org) has fourteen endowments (for scholarships) and five grants (for entrepreneurship) at five universities/colleges and has supported numerous charitable projects in Canada, India and Nepal. He is CEO of dgMarket International Inc., USA. and was conferred Honorary Doctorate (2009) by Ryerson University's Ted Rogers School of Business Management. He is honoured into Champions of Public Education in Canada Hall of Fame (2013) by The Learning Partnership. A recipient of numerous awards, including the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal (2012), Aditya has been honoured twice by ICCC – first in 2004 in the Technology Achievement category and then in 2014 for Lifetime Achievement. Aditya was an Adjunct Faculty (National University of Singapore, 1989-94) and been invited speaker at several internationally recognized Business schools. His approach to philanthropy is featured in the Economist Intelligence Unit (Economist magazine, UK).
 
Amin Visram

Amin Visram, a lawyer, is the Chief Executive Officer of the Vista Group of Companies specializes in property turn around. Vista has achieved staggering turn arounds and profits of 300% to 500% within short periods of time. The immediacy of results and sustained high levels of performance and profitability have earned Vista numerous accolades from its business partners, lending institutions, corporate and private investors, as well as other sources of funding.

 
Arjun (Andy) Jasuja
Arjun (Andy) Jasuja is the founder and chairman of the Sigma Group of Companies, with a portfolio spanning diverse industries across technology, marketing, real estate, hospitality, and finance. As a serial entrepreneur, Andy has built and acquired numerous companies whereby leveraging his solid management and operational excellence to achieve long-term value and growth. As Chairman, Andy is instrumental in guiding the group’s investment strategy and identifying unique business opportunities across various industries. Andy has raised substantial capital from leading venture capital and private equity firms including Kleiner Perkins, Morgan Stanley, Cisco, and Birch Hill Equity Partners.
Ashwin Joshi

Dr. Ashwin Joshi is Associate Professor, Marketing and Director, MBA Program, Schulich School of Business. Having completed his PhD in 1993, Dr. Ashwin Joshi began his academic career at the University of Winnipeg, followed by stints at St. Mary’s University and at the University of Calgary.  He joined the faculty of the Schulich School of Business, York University in 1999.  Since that time, Ashwin has taught across a wide range of programs within the School, including the BBA, Masters of Management, Master of Business Analytics, MBA, IMBA, EMBA, and the Phd Program. Relationship building is a key theme in his research and consulting practice.

 

Atul Tolia
 
Dr. Atul Tolia is the Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and specialist in Diagnostic Radiology. He was a professor at the Faculty of the University of Toronto in Diagnostic Imaging as a specialist in Neuro, Cardiac, Vascular, and Interventional Radiology and is private practice of Diagnostic Radiology. Atul is the founding member of the board of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Canada, the Indo-Canadian Cultural Club, and founding executive vice president of the Canadian National Organization of Physicians from India (CAPI), the Canada India Foundation and several other bilateral organizations, including World Literacy of Canada. Her Worship, Hazel McCallion, the mayor of Mississauga recently presented him with an award for excellence in the cultural arts patronship and leadership at the MOSAIC Arts festival.

B K Sethi

B K Sethi is founder and President of B K Sethi Marketing Ltd., a company that brought authentic ethnic foods from around the world to mainstream retail in Canada in the mid-1980s. He promoted the concept of linking festivals with food for ethnic consumers and ushered in culture and heritage. B K Sethi is a recipient of business excellence award by Scarborough Chamber of Commerce, Grand Prix Award and Grocery Hall of Fame. He is a member of Advisory Committee on multicultural programs with Omni-TV. He was a board member of the ICCC.


Ginni Sethi
 
Former Vice President of Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce, Ginni Sethi is the Chairperson at Black Diamond Entertainments. Owner of many ventures, she is an innovative, tenacious and entrepreneurial businesswoman. Visionary in her approach, she took her furniture business to an international level turning it into a global multi-million-dollar company. She jointly owns many other businesses, in real estate; software development; construction; hospitality, and events and entertainment and has achieved success in all realms. In 2017 she launched her business of Party boats cruising the Toronto Harbour. Her company Pioneer Cruises owns boats which are chartered for private and public events.

Hemant Shah

Hemant Shah is a pioneer in Canada – India bilateral trade. He started a trading venture nearly five decades ago from Winnipeg. A forward-thinking and community-minded business leader with demonstrable experience in the promotion and development of international trade, he has a successful record in the establishment of productive export opportunities to countries in Asia, Europe, North America, and the Middle East. Mr. Shah is a recipient of several prestigious awards from the business community and government. Mr. Shah took a leading role in establishing a memorandum of understanding between Canada and India to expand trade relations between the two countries. He facilitated many trade missions to India on behalf of Canadian government departments. He represented 41 Canadian businesses from Manitoba at a trade show sponsored by Canada. He has organized and coordinated several delegations to India and Southeast Asia in cooperation with the Department of International Affairs, International Trade and Western Economic Diversification.
 

Joseph Selvaraj Savier
 

Joseph S. Savier, ICD. D, is President & CEO of SBI Canada Bank, a wholly owned subsidiary of State Bank of India (SBI), a Fortune Global 500 company. Digitally savvy leader with international experience of over three decades in Canada, USA, India and Panama in consumer banking, commercial banking, international banking, treasury, technology, risk management and HR. He is currently on the Board of the bank and on the Advisory Board of the Indo Canada Chamber of Commerce (ICCC).

As CFO & Corporate Secretary, State Bank of India (California), during the great recession, he helped the bank navigate in an increasingly challenging regulatory environment. In India, he managed SBI’s relationship with the treasuries of its corporate clients and foreign investors assisted by a team of over 70 Relationship Managers. He was part of the team that designed and executed ‘Parivartan’ and ‘Aarohan’, two landmark HR initiatives which impacted over 200K employees of SBI.

He has an MBA from Anna University Chennai and a diploma in International Banking and Finance. He is also a certified Corporate Director and has completed the Directors Education Program from the Institute of Corporate Directors and Rotman School of Management.



MR. VIKASH SHARMA



Mr. Vikash Sharma is the President and Chief Executive Officer of ICICI Bank Canada.

Mr. Sharma has around 25 years of experience in India and internationally with expertise in retail banking, small and medium enterprise banking, corporate banking, trade finance, private banking, financial institution relationships and treasury management at senior leadership positions in India, South-East Asia, the Middle East & Africa and North America.

Most recently, Mr. Sharma was the ICICI Group Business Head for the Odisha, Chhattisgarth, Bihar and Jharkhand states in India, responsible for developing and executing business strategies and providing holistic banking services to customers in those regions.  He spent 11 years as the ICICI Group Regional Head for the Middle East and Africa, managing all aspects of the Group’s corporate, private banking and NRI businesses in the region and expanding the Group’s footprint in this large and growing area.  Mr. Sharma has also been ICICI Group’s Head of Corporate and Commercial Banking in Southeast Asia while working out of Singapore and was Chief Manager of the International Financial Institutions Group at the ICICI Head Office in Mumbai. 

Mr. Sharma holds a degree in Chartered Accountancy from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, where he was ranked third at the national level and was awarded for writing the best paper in Advanced Accounting.  He also holds a degree in Cost Accountancy from the Institute of Cost and Works Accounts of India, Kolkata, where he was ranked seventh at the national level. 


Shanthi Johnson
 

Shanthi Johnson Professor & Dean, School of Public Health, University of Alberta, is a leader in the fields of health promotion and healthy aging. An internationally renowned researcher with multidisciplinary perspective, she has led significant research and has secured notable grants. She has delivered more than 300 presentations and is the author of over 150 peer reviewed articles and reports in prestigious journals such as the Lancet. Johnson has played a key leadership role as associate dean in the Faculty of Kinesiology and Health Studies at the University of Regina (2008–2014). She has served on various boards and was the President of Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute.
