ICCC President Mr. Dharma P Jain with other board members
This media interaction was first of its kind in Chamber's history. The purpose behind this was to let media tour the newly acquired Chamber's headquarter, meet with newly elected board of directors and share new boards’ vision for the upcoming year.
ICCC President Mr. Dharma P Jain welcomes the media representatives and his colleagues on board. He guided tour of chamber's building and explained the possible use of all the three levels. ICCC has acquired 6000 sq. ft. building last year comprising 3 floors of 2000 sq. ft. each. Chamber plans to use basement floor for organizing events, main floor for administration which houses visitors lobby, staff rooms and directors room and the top floor is planned to be used for the proposed Centre of Excellence and Resource Centre along with a meeting room.
Chamber moved into new headquarter and started its operations early this year. The Centre for Excellence will be used for doing active research on the Canada India relations and also exploring new possibilities for expanding trade ties between the two countries. It will equally be available for use by businessmen, professionals, students and research scholars working in Canada India space.
Having taken a tour of Chamber headquarter, media representatives and board members had a lengthy discussion in board room. President Dharma Jain and other directors shared their vision for upcoming year, and also answered questions asked by media representatives.
Board apprised media representatives of forming few committees in order to bringing in more disciplined, open, transparent and fair approach in Chamber's working. Dharma Jain and Naval Bajaj shared their views on the India Trade Mission; Chamber will be taking to India in January 2015. All board members echoed the same approach of making chamber more SME centric and holding events focused to areas more close to SME sector.
Prior to that Dharma Jain introduced his colleagues and their portfolios to the media representatives. Members of ICCC board Mr. Tony Chawla, Ms. Rajni Tekriwal, Mr. Naval Bajaj, Mr. Sanjay Makkar, Mr. Jagdish Bajaj and Mr. Hardesh Marwaha were also present during the interaction and actively participated in discussion.
This first interactive meeting with media was a huge success and it was felt that more meetings with media representatives will be helpful in taking the ICCC mandate forward.
ICCC President thanked media representatives and board members for attending the meeting.
