ICCC seminar on "Saving for Retirement- A Strategy to Protect & Grow Your Wealth for Retirement"

Indo Canada Chamber of Commerce in partnership with CIBC Wood Gundy organized a seminar on, “Saving for Retirement- A Strategy to Protect & Grow Your Wealth for Retirement” on 30 September 2014. The subject of the seminar was very timely because in several surveys, Canadians have expressed their two most important Financial Concerns as “Ensuring you’re prepared for Retirement” & “Ensuring You don’t outlive your savings”.

Mr. Dharma P Jain, President of the Chamber welcomes all participants and said that the seminar will provide information for the financial planning to save for retirement and how the individuals can save more money in the light of gradually changing government financial policies.

Mr. Avin Mehra, Vice President & Portfolio Manager, CIBC Wood Gundy was the guest speaker at the seminar. Mr. Mehra addressed the seminar with questions of “Why, What, When & How” & outlined the sources of income in retirement, including CPP, OAS, Company Pension, RRSP, TFSA, IPP, RCA, Home Equity etc., as also the Risk Management/Risk Mitigation strategies. He also provided the sources of information/websites, for customizing individual Retirement Plans, if needed.

Seminar attendees were satisfied both for content & presentation of information and expressed their interest in other similar topics, with most notable being- Wills & Estate Planning” , “How to navigate Canadian Stock Markets” , “Strategies to minimize Risks in Investment Portfolios”, and, “Tax minimization Strategies”. Financial Freedom, one need to take action and this message was well communicated through this seminar.
