Women Entrepreneurs Professionals (WEP) committee of the Indo Canada Chamber of Commerce is organizing an informative seminar on Alternative Career Options.  

Speakers:

Sharon E. Maloney, Chief Executive Officer, Career Colleges Ontario

Ms. Sharon Maloney joined Career Colleges Ontario as its inaugural CEO On January 26, 2016. Ms. Maloney is a lawyer, senior association executive, and government relations professional with extensive experience in representing private and public organizations. Ms. Maloney has led strategic association reviews which have resulted in the identification and the successful implementation of organizational goals including leading the merger of the Canadian Shoe Retailers with the Retail Council of Canada, reorganizing the governance structure of Retail Council of Canada, and designing and implementing the national public affairs strategy for Polytechnics Canada.

Ms. Maloney has enhanced the reputations of public and private sector clients by implementing voluntary codes of practice on ethical sourcing and pricing accuracy, leading members of the Retail Council of Canada in the formation of The Alliance For Bangladesh Worker Safety - a response to the tragic fires and factory collapses in Bangladesh - and promoting the role of applied education in enhancing Canada’s competitiveness on behalf of Polytechnics Canada.

Sunita Vyas: Founding Director, Academy of Learning College, Mississauga

Ms. Sunita is a serial entrepreneur and the founder of Academy of Learning College (AOL), Mississauga. Acquiring the college in 2011, she steered the growth of this small vocational college into a reputed Private College.  Under her leadership the college has added new programs and as of last year has expanded its facilities to International Students as registered ISP with Ministry of Education. As Founding Director Ms. Sunita is responsible for the overall management and growth of AOL College, with a key focus on student enablement. 

Meenakshi Bohra Vyas: Campus Director

Ms. Vyas is a Director at the Academy of Learning. She manages Business development and Marketing. Ms. Vyas also serves on the Board of Directors for the Career Colleges of Ontario as a member of the Professional Development committee. Ms. Vyas did her Bachelor’s degree in Management Accounting and an MBA in Marketing from the University of Mumbai, India. Ms. Vyas worked for the Revenue Department of the State of California. Ms. Vyas also served as a program manager for Software Labs, a Silicon Valley startup in California where she was instrumental in revenue growth and sales strategy.
