Register for India Business Forum in Mumbai & Delhi

Canada’s Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Justin Trudeau, will travel to India – at the invitation of India’s Prime Minister Hon. Narendra Modi – for a state visit from February 17 to 23, 2018.

Canada and India enjoy a special relationship that is based on a common democratic values and burgeoning economic trade that has been growing exponentially during the last decade. Since September 2016, there have been eleven ministerial visits to India, including, most recently, a trade mission led by Minister of International Trade Hon. François-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Hon. Navdeep Bains, and Minister of Transport Hon. Marc Garneau, in November 2017.

Prime Minister Trudeau will visit Agra, Amritsar, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, and New Delhi. The visit will provide an opportunity to strengthen Canada India economic ties. 

One in Mumbai on February 20th and a second one in Delhi on February 22nd.

The Mumbai Business Forum will be a half-day event, exact times to be provided.

Mumbai Business Forum

The Mumbai Business Forum will commence with registration at 8:00 a.m. and the program will start at 8:45 a.m. All guests must be registered and carry photo ID. We expect to finish by 3:30 p.m.  We are pleased to confirm that The Rt. Hon. Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada, will be the featured guest and will address the gathering.  More details on this will be provided in due course.  The theme of the day’s proceedings is: “Moving from Confluence to Congruence.” Canadian and Indian business leaders, as well as senior government representatives, have interacted with greater frequency and success.  Similarly, leaders from the broader sectors of higher education and the services sector have stepped up their collaborative ventures.  However, far more needs to be accomplished. This Business Forum draws on the expertise of leaders from both countries that have first-hand knowledge of operating in each other’s jurisdictions.  Their practical insights will provide a road-map for developing strategies and actions. The program will feature three panels:

1. “Promoting Canadian Strengths in the context of India’s Policy Agenda”

2. “The New Economy - Fintech, Digital and the Services Dimension”

3. “The View from CEOs”

Networking lunch will follow panel sessions.

Delhi Business Forum

Canada-India commercial relations show great promise for expansion.  In the last half-decade alone, our bilateral trade and investment numbers have increased, direct flights have been launched, and collaboration in the innovation arena have risen significantly.  This brain-chain between Canada and India represents a vital augmentation to our current bilateral economic relationship.  Leading opinion makers, senior government representatives, and business leaders from both countries will share their knowledge at this Forum.
