presents a seminar on
Digital Media & Marketing

Part of ICCC-RBC series for small businesses

The term 'digital marketing' was first used in the 1990s. Since then, digital marketing became more sophisticated as an effective way to create a relationship with the consumer that has depth and relevance. Recent statistics show that digital marketing remained a growing field.

Digital marketing is marketing that makes use of electronic devices (computers) such as personal computers, smartphones, cellphones, tablets and game consoles to engage with stakeholders. Digital marketing applies technologies or platforms such as websites, e-mail, apps (classic and mobile) and social networks.

Digital marketing is often referred to as 'online marketing' or 'internet marketing'. Social Media Marketing is a component of digital marketing. Many organisations use a combination of traditional and digital marketing channels.

Digital media and marketing have special significance for the small and medium businesses as it levels the playing field for them by enabling them to compete with large corporations for public attention. However, it requires a thorough understanding of the issues and the practices.

Under the aegis of ICCC-RBC Royal Bank Small Business Series, ICCC’s SME committee has organized an interactive session on this important subject.
