ICCC's WEP & BDC organise a
workshop for women entrepreneurs

Women entrepreneurs are ambitious and talented, and yet, their companies tend to be smaller and grow slower than those of their male counterparts. 

This can be a real barrier to success in today’s competitive environment. That’s why it’s so important to invest in business and cultivate its growth. The Women Entrepreneurs Committee of ICCC in partnership with BDC recently organised an exclusive event to learn how Women Entrepreneurs can better promote their business.

Renu Narang, Manager, Entrepreneurship Centre, BDC, was the main speaker at the event. She has over 15 years of diversified experience in banking, business development and real estate. As the manager of the BDC Scarborough Entrepreneurship Centre, Renu manages a team of dedicated individuals support local growing entrepreneurs by providing financing and advisory solutions. Renu and her team provided different solutions for new projects. She is also involved in the community with active participation in school board, and the ICCC.

She provided insights into the BDC’s initiative to engage more women entrepreneur in starting businesses. BDC is the only bank devoted exclusively to entrepreneurs and it offers flexible financing for all type of start-up businesses. It also performs an advisory role for the new business leaders for setting up the venture and has over $50 million investment in women led technology firms

Improvements in businesses with the help of BDC. In his welcome remarks, Kanwar Dhanjal, President of Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce (ICCC) said that the Chamber is focused on promoting women entrepreneurs. He encouraged women entrepreneurs to participate in the Chamber’s forthcoming Canada-India Expo that the ICCC is organising in December 2017, and also participate in the India Mission 2018. Devika Penekelapati, Corporate Secretary and Vice President, Sponsorship, gave the vote of thanks.
